Sputnik — US is Losing Its Status of World Power – Deutsche Wirtschafts Nachrichten

The US is losing its status of world power, as the country has lately not been able to enforce its geopolitical interests in several regions and has had to retreat, according to German Media.
The descent of the United States as a world power started in Syria, Deutsche Wirtschafts Nachrichten reported.…
However, according to Deutsche Wirtschafts Nachrichten, the US is losing its status as a world power not only because of its failure in the foreign policy. Not less important is the fact that government has failed to lessen the gap between rich and poor and abandoned its own moral standards.
Well, that may be somewhat of an exaggeration. but the US has taken some lumps lately, and the moral authority of the US in decline. The Obama administration has perpetuated mistakes of previous administrations, especially the Bush administration.

One turning point was when the US openly supported the Ukie Nazis. It still boggles my mind.

Of course we had supported Nazis and fascists from the Truman administration forward, but at least in the old days we had enough conscience to hide it, because we knew it was wrong. Now we don't even try to hide it. We're fascist and proud of it.

The failure to prosecute the Bush wars and the Bush torture is another turning point. We we had started illegal wars before, and tortured before, but again at least in the old days we covered it up or lied about it. Now it's "so we tortured some folks," shrug shoulders, end of discussion.

And then there is the presidential kill list. Nixon had an enemies list, but it was a scandal, and he was forced out.

As Arthur Sibler said, when the government can kill anyone it likes, whenever it feels like it, without accountability, it just doesn't get any worse than that.

[Shrug shoulders.]
