More libertarian hijinks

After looking at this, why would anyone interested in social justice ever self-identify as a libertarian again?

From Urban Dictionary on SJWs: A pejorative term for an individual who repeatedly and vehemently engages in arguments on social justice on the Internet, often in a shallow or not well-thought-out way, for the purpose of raising their own personal reputation. A social justice warrior, or SJW, does not necessarily strongly believe all that they say, or even care about the groups they are fighting on behalf of. They typically repeat points from whoever is the most popular blogger or commenter of the moment, hoping that they will "get SJ points" and become popular in return. They are very sure to adopt stances that are "correct" in their social circle.

Social Justice=/= Social Justice Warrior. You would know if you have ever had the misfortune of interacting with one.

SWJism is ironically the "free market" commodification of gender ,race and social activism into a artificial narcissistic personality disorder i.e. politics is the personal and personal is the brand.

The end result is class solidarity becomes impossible in-group cliques based on some made-up gender, sexual fetish/orientation, or "disability" and attack everyone else as an oppressor even if the SJW is a white women from a blue blood family and the "oppressor" is a black man from a ghetto. The Jacobin had an excellent article about this called "Let Them Eat Privilege."

The DoD created SJWs as a weapon and first used it to internally destroy Occupy Wall Street. Remember the lies about how the Occupy Camps were dangerous rape camps? Remember how nobody could make a platform for demands because the progressive stack, the endless intersectionality debates over veganism? Remember Justin and Ketchup on the Colbert Report who destroyed the public image of Occupy and after that Occupy in the average American mind was forever a bunch of whiny hipsters instead of being about corruption in Banking and Government?

No war but the Class War, End Identity Politics Now. The best example of identity politics in action is Nazi Germany.

The parallels are getting scary.

Sept,

You're over thinking it.

This is simply a shot at any who advocate for social justice from libertarian true believers. ..

Sept,

The left is all heart and no brains... the right is all brains and no heart...

You need both.

These kids are just the young typical left "no brainers" acting out any way they can against or to bring attention to the injustices...

Its not "cerebral" enough for most but it is all they have to work with.

These kids behavior should be a tip-off to qualified/competent people in positions of rule to investigate and impose justice.

But our positions of rule are currently usurped by libertarians who dont want anything "imposed" especially justice unless it is somehow self-administered ... they're nut jobs with no heart AND no brains...

"...the right is all brains and no heart..."

Not quite. The right is all balls and no brains and no heart. The right gets away with a lot just by being shameless, brazen liars. It takes balls to look people in the eye and tell the most absurd lies.

The right does it all the time. They're good at it, know they won't get called out and have the audacity to tell the same lie again and again. You've got to hand it to them. Their perseverance to the art of lying is a credit to them.

Does it take brains to lie? Debatable.

John,

The right has the brains to be successful... in the latest budgetary chaos here, they put in an additional 70B or so for the military with the claim they will take it out of social programs... they got it done...

They have the "brains" or can be seen as being "smart" enough to at least get done what they want accomplished...
and the corporate/military systems work EXTREMELY well...

They are NOT liars they are true believers.... they believe in what they are doing and they execute ... they are manifestly technically competent... of course within the libertarian or "out of money" framework that both the current right and left are operating within....

iow the right is technically competent or I would say "they have the brains"...

We ("team mankind") cannot integrate both "brains" and "heart" at this time imo... its a foundational problem...

I blame libertarianism.

Matt,

I agree wholeheartedly with you when you say they are "technically competent". I watch with absolute awe the machinations of the Republicans. Has there ever been a more successful political party? Whatever they want done, they get done. No fuss, no muss. And they're shameless at how they go about it.

The Left, by which I don't mean the Democratic Party or the British Labour Party, have a lot to learn from the Republicans. It is impossible and frankly stupid not to respect the Republican Party or Fox News.

Now, are they really true believers? I would divide them into two camps: the true believers and the knowing liars.

The dipshit fanatics at the conventions are true believers. They'd eat their young if commanded to by Sarah Palin and crew. But I would say that the likes of Cheney, Rumsfeld, Kissinger, Milton Friedman, Rush Limbaugh, etc are knowing liars.

The true believers are the saps who you see sending money to some shyster televangelist. Meanwhile the Cheneys of the world are the atheist televangelists who are yet to be caught in a sleazy motel snorting coke off a prostitute's buttocks.

Is it possible that the Cheneys and Rumsfelds are true believers in the style of Jim Jones or David Koresh? I guess it is theoretically possible. But surely it's more likely they're galactic liars. It is unimaginable that they are unaware of the truth and what they then say.

When a Republican says that knowing what he knows now that he would still have invaded Iraq in 2003, is he clinically insane or a brazen liar?

When a Republican says that social security is bust, or tax cuts for the rich make poor people richer is he unable to do the kind of simple arithmetic that a four-year-old child is taught at kindergarten or is he a brazen liar?

Matt Franko said...

John they would do much more than Iraq if they thought it was currently politically possible... the war machine is humming right now it has never been more powerful... we can hit any thing at any time... they know this...

so what is easier? To put brains into the left or a heart into the right?

Or somehow integrate both sides?

One thing is for sure all of this libertarianism is getting us nowhere....

The Big Lie is alive and well and Joseph Goebbels would be proud of it. But it is not "the right." The issues not between the so-called right and left. It's between the ownership class and their cronies and minions and the working class. Since the world class is more numerous, the privileged have to manipulate it to preserve and extend their power. Overwhelming force is always in the background and it is brought into the foreground as needed.

"Right" or "left" are morons and have no brains, if they had brains they would be able to conclude basic arithmetic facts. They can't do that. Claiming anything else seems partisan to me, and falling into the old-fart partisanship game is also brainless behaviour by the privileged minions of the status quo. It's all extreme myopia.

The system is on auto-pilot to self-destruction mode. Probably a lot of people on the so-called "right" (and on the left) believe we are in a true Malthusian moment and think that the best way to fix real world problems is to press the pedals to the max and go on crash course. If you start from this premise you could say they have brains and are acting based upon that. The problem is that when you take that premise, the solution that follows is not that one, as that's the most absolutely worst possible solution.

Are the rich really such idiots and fools that believing having a luxury bunker in the middle of some isolated island is going to save them? You can hardly get more idiot than that. I call bullshit on claiming that probably anybody with real power has brains just by observing the decisions being taken. I can concede that the "right" thrives in chaos and they believe it's the fix to all the problems, in that way they are "smart".

We are ruled by nihilists, nihilists don't need to have "brains", as in one-dimensional thinking. Libertarianism is just a synonym of nihilism, as is the consumerism society or "the free markets" or "money", as is the stupid petty social justice issues described by Septeus above. All are false diatribes to fill the void of the mediocre people ruling, or the mediocre people following those rulers. They are incapable of love, of appreciating beauty, of progress, and this is what we get: the worst generation of offenders in the West since the middle ages.

Ha correct!

I'm trying to communicate from within their paradigm... if you can see what I mean...

Youre right they are both stupid in this way from our perspective... I'm trying to describe it from within their paradigm...
